Mud Tracks and Car Painting!

This week we read "The Little Blue Truck" and talked about the way the dump truck and blue got stuck in the mud! During Circle time any time I asked what a dump truck or tractor drove in the most common answer was MUD!! So, on Wednesday when we finished reading the book a second time, we got an idea to take the tractor and unfortunately our garbage truck, because we don't have a large dump truck, and drive them through brown and orange paint to make mud tracks!

A little while after Miss Hannah got to thinking and decided why not try out some car painting, and they loved it! It became a big mix and mess of paint and full of smiles from all the kiddos! They did the exact same thing as the tractor but with smaller cars and more colors of paint. My favorite thing about this craft was just how easy it was to let them take over and experiment with it. I think that might be part of my favorite thing about the Reggio aspect. Watching the child lead an activity is so fascinating and fun because they take it to a level you wouldn't even think to!

Quote from today: "If it isn't messy, it isn't worth it."
